RYLA this year was held July 2 - 9th and the Rotary Club of St. Johns sponsored 4 budding leaders to attend.
This years RYLA delivered everything that it was meant to, with the weather, the surprises and the speakers, all overlaid with a touch of Covid which saw a few Rylarians having to end their participation early. The organising team, led by Peter Ross, were required to make some significant changes to the planned proceedings, including the final night graduation dinner, in order to minimise the spread of the infection and, as at time of writing this story, it appears that they were successful in doing so.
We will be treated to a complete review of RYLA 2022 when our sponsored Rylarians attend and speak at our dinner meeting on September 1st. Having the RYLA awardees present at our meeting is always a highlight of the year so be sure to put this date in your diary now.
You can't say that the St. Johns representatives at the Awards Dinner didn't take social distancing seriously!!!
