Club members were entertained last week with informative and competent presentations from two District 9920 Rotary Youth Exchange students. First up to speak was Victoria (Viki) from Austria, resplendent in her national dress and RYE blazer. Blazers get covered with pins and small mementos from their experiences and travels around our country. Viki has only been in NZ for three months, so her ability to present so well in English was awesome. She has attended Pakuranga College and is hosted by Pakuranga Club. (Pictured right).

Malena from Argentina spoke next (pictured left). She has been in NZ for 10 months and attended Onehunga High School. Malena has been hosted by Parnell Rotary Club and as you can tell from her momento-laden RYE blazer - her year in NZ is coming to an end.

We learned about their countries and their home towns, the food they enjoy, their schools, their families and friends. Both RYE students report having a super time in NZ with their host families and hosting clubs. They were also very very excited about their upcoming South Island trip (with aprox 25 other RYE's) which was due to depart on Saturday. Thank you for getting up early to make such lovely presentations - and thanks to host dad Colin (from Parnell Club) for bringing them to us.

Our club is very much looking forward to hosting from mid-January next year when Gonzalo from Argentina arrives!
