This past weekend saw a flurry of club activity;

  • A Fund Raising activity re-labeling a "Container" full of imported foodstuffs from the UK:
    • Although this was arranged at very short notice we still managed to have 15 members, plus some family members, present to add "locally required labels" to a wide variety of foodstuffs from the United Kingdom.  There is the potential for this to become a monthly fund-raising exercise, providing we can make the people power commitment.  Apart from the financial benefit a lot of laughs and camaraderie was experienced.

  • A Community project, planting trees in Waiatarua Reserve, Remuera:
    • A massive turn-out of numerous community organisations, schools and our club, to plant 2000 tree seedlings - all completed within 90 mins.  It was a spectacular sight and a wonderful spirit was felt by all and the weather held out which was an added bonus.

  • A club Fellowship trip to Tiritiri Matangi Island:
    •  A small group had a wonderful day despite the weather.  The guides were excellent / very informative, and another trip will be planned in the summer.

  • The Dove Hospice Garage Sale:
    • The club was once again well represented by Murray and Francis who recommend the experience to all.

A significant number of members participated in these activities and, in fact, some participated in more than one of the activities - some even managed to undertake participating in three of these!!

To all who participated, helping to top up the club funds which will help us complete our large number of projects, and those who participated in the community activities which will help make our community a better place for all - a whopping big thank you!!
