Recently our 'Toothbrush in Schools' champion Penny Leyland was contacted by RC Papakura who are establishing this project in some schools in Papakura. Penny was storing five spare toothbrush units and received approval from our Board to donate these to RC Papakura for their new projects. She received the following thank you email:Hi Penny
I hope you are well and doing ok in this never ending lockdown!
Can I ask that you please pass on our sincere gratitude to both the members and Board of St Johns Rotary Club for the donation of the 5 toothbrush containers and cartons of toothpaste for our Dental Project. The youth committee was rapt when we received the news through George, and we will certainly make sure that the Club is named as a sponsor.
Our school and their dental team have given us superb feedback at the remarkable difference the project is making to the students dental health. Our project lead Lars is a fairly new Rotarian, and the buzz he is getting from making a real difference at a grass roots level has been contagious! He is really keen to grow the project to fill the need we have here in Papakura and we are right behind him!
So again, thank you so much!
