July 2nd saw our new President, Hugh Scott-Russell pick up the reigns from now IPP, Robyn Ingram.
Hugh was welcomed to the podium by Sergeant for the day Murray H and President Hugh thanked the 26 members and 1 guest for bracing the first really cold morning of the year.
One of Hugh's first announcements of the day was to introduce our new club photographer, Kevin K, and thank him for taking on this important role. The Bulletin Editor also welcomed the appointment and again a big thanks to Aubrey for his photography duties over the last few years.
Kevin immediately started pointing and clicking, capturing President Hugh deep in thought, thinking "what do I do next, or should I just ring the bell", and a good shot of Murray pretending he was holding the microphone. You can see more photos from the meeting by clicking on "Read More", below.

Hugh used this meeting to share more details of his personal goals and goals for members to attain during the year ahead. Goals set for members are outlined in Hugh's comments above. His personal goals are;
- Balance the budget
- Create transparency
- Engage with my community
- Facilitate great fellowship
- Survive and have fun
The theme for the year that Hugh has chosen is "Champions" and Hugh's definition is; "Champions are people in our club or community who are passionate about our community and need the framework to support their initiatives”.
As reported in last weeks Bulletin, a team of nine form St. Johns Rotary spent the 24th of June on Motutapu Island participating in a working bee in the island's nursery and Peter B was given the opportunity to provide further details on the work undertaken. Thanks again to the nine worker bee's.
Unfortunately due to a prior commitment, Gary K was unable to attend our Change-over dinner, at which he was thanked by IPP Robyn for his work as Director Foundation and by President Hugh for once again leading this important area of the club again this year. Well done and thanks Gary, or Gorgeous Gary as he is known by some.
