As we continue in Covid-19 Level 3, 24 members plus our Guest Speaker linked in for another Thursday Zoom meeting. 😊President Hugh welcomed all members who participated in a general discussion as we awaited the arrival of our guest speaker.
Peter B. gave a brief update on the upcoming club visit to Rotoroa Island. To date there are 10 booked and as we are required to confirm numbers very soon, if there are others wanting to participate, please contact Peter immediately and he will do what he can to have our allocated numbers increased to accommodate any late registrations.
Another club activity on the horizon is the MS Street Appeal scheduled to be held on September 18 - 19. St. Johns Rotary will be providing collectors in the foyer of New World, Lunn Ave - if you can assist and haven't already registered, please contact Leslie.
It was then time to hear from our Guest Speaker, Mary Panko who is the President of the "End of Life Choice Society, NZL". Mary's presentation was very informative and it was evident that many members had details regarding the upcoming referendum clarified one way or the other, and they will now potentially be better prepared to vote in line with their support or otherwise. Mary was happy for us to record her presentation, and thanks to technology, and the skills demonstrated by IPP Robyn, the presentation is available to be viewed by any interested members who missed the meeting. Many thanks Mary, for your time and presentation to our members and for allowing us to record the presentation which will allow more members the opportunity of hearing your position on this very important matter.
