Help!  Island Child Needs You.

Last month one of our guest speakers was Danielle Bergin, Founder and CEO of Island Child Charity Trust.  This week we received the following email - please take a couple of minutes to read this, and hopefully one of our members will be able to assist or know someone who can.  If that is the case please contact Danielle direct;
 
"Dear Robyn,
II thoroughly enjoyed being a recent guest speaker.  Thank you to all members for the opportunity. Several members asked for a regular update email.
After I spoke, we had several carloads of donations and one offer of a regular Volunteer.

What we need:

Has anyone got a storage unit Glen Innes area… a commercial building or easily accessible garage or empty shop?

We need storage facility at affordable cost. It is for donated preloved furniture and whiteware … we need to store it .. and then distribute it for free when homeless families move in to their HNZC home.

Our current under house storage is not coping with the volume of furniture donated, because with the increase of families coming through the shelter (55-70 families per year) most families need a full house-lot of preloved furniture. Otherwise they receive a key and empty house to call a home. It is better educational outcomes for the children if the home has furniture and a less stressed environment.
