Our first meeting of the year attracted 28 members and all were warmly welcomed by "Rejuvenated Robyn".
Our speakers on the day were Board Members who shared some thoughts of their vision for the next 12 months. Some sound bites from the various speakers, follow;
President Robyn spoke to our major events and fundraising commitments over the next 6 months; namely the Golf Tournament March 16th, Quiz Night - date to be confirmed and the District Conference in May.
Muriel shared with the meeting an overview of the "Strategy Meeting" that the Board had scheduled for Saturday Feb 15th which would look at building on past success and capitalise on our strong culture.
As Director Membership, Donald shared with us that the Membership Committee meet every month and are focusing on how to benefit from the results of last years survey, current and future Social Media Promos focused on attracting new members, and the role all members have in introducing potential new members.
As Officer responsible for Fellowship Activities and knowing that these are welcomed events by club members, Michelle advised that some of the activities being considered are; Walks, trips to Tiritiri Matangi and Rotora Islands, Cruise to Riverhead, Bowling evening and Michelle indicated that she is open to any ideas so if you do have one that you think members will enjoy, please talk to Michelle.
Hugh, PE, is already immersed in Club activities and is keen to start his new year in July, up and running. In the Rotary Year 2020 / 2021, Hugh will be promoting a culture in the club that everyone is comfortable with. Saturday's strategy session will help form a guide to the direction he will follow. He is also keen to see that our future will be about our community.
...and of course no good meeting would be complete without a Sargent's session designed to empty the pockets of all present and Miles commenced the year accordingly!
